Replacing FPP water set screws

What size does everyone go up to when replacing the set screws. One of mine is toast and needs to be drilled.

I was thinking of going metric M5 but if using 1/4-28 or 1/4-20 can be done without making it too hard to tune or degrade performance it would save me some dough in taps and drill bits.

doesnt Jeremy Parr sell oversized screws? I dont recommend drilling and tapping, heat it up, grab it with vice grips, and spin.

the screws are easy to find and i have all the tools, i just didnt know if goinw up from a 10-32 screw to a 1/4-28 was too much.

I tried getting it with the vice grips but the screw was so far in, only the head was protruding. which crushes since its so thin. I can try heating it but i doubt that will help.

I've been told that heating the entire head pipe will help but when I had a broken/seized one, I just set my pipe in a Bridgeport and drilled the old one out and chased the threads.
