Removing powdercoat.....this is wicked stuff

I'm ready to drop my motor back in my ski, but last night Wayne gave me the idea to do one more thing before the LSFR.
I had the ugliest pipe known to man I believe, so he said why don't you strip the poder coat so the chamber at least is nice and shiny.
Well......I am. This stuff that he had gotten for stripping the paint off of his handlepole is killer. I wiped some on my chamber and let it sit for a while, and here's what it does. The big clean section was after sitting about 15 minutes with this stuff, and it scrapes right off.
Now though I'm going to have to pull my manifold and head pipe after the ride so I can do it too.

when you get back from the ride - send both out for a ceramic coating...they'll look real nice.

did you fix that coupler issue?

I might do that. Once I get it all stripped though, I'm going to try to polish it up with this Master Formula stuff that Wayne used on his old R&D pipe. It made it almost look chrome. Pretty impressive stuff also.

The coupler issue wasn't a coupler issue after all. There was a hairline crack around part of the lip of the chamber where the clamp goes. It's taken care of. A little southern ingenuity, but gotta get on the water!
See ya early Friday morning.

Yeah. Should be done with it tonight. I'm heading out right now to finish stripping it, and then I'll polish her up and see how it looks.
Might be later though....I suppose I should probably drop in my motor and make sure she's running, or that pretty pipe won't do me much good.

I've got the Master Formula as well - are you going to polish it before you come down? I'd love to see the results.

Here it is. The pics don't really do it justice. It looks pretty damn good imo.
I did a quick job on it due to the fact that I'm running out of time.....but it came out alright. Will add a little bit of bling factor to the engine compartment at least.

yeah, he got his girdled head on and the exhaust manifold and headpipe. looked at it and said "i figured a girdled head would make my engine look better, but it is ugly. greenish stock color engine, gray pipe, and black and silver head."

i figured this was a cheap mod and would add at least 10hp due to bling factor. lol

Now all I have to do is go pick up a couple new stickers, that'll be worth at least another 10-20....and I'll be set!:splatt:
