when i went with a smaller battery i twisted the rubber straps until they were as tight as they originally fit. Don't know if that will work on the tank or not. I think I have seen some guys leave the empty tank in there to take up the space.

I forgot!
when i bought my sxi several years back the oil tank was setup to hold alittle extra fuel, i think i only filled it a few time for when i would travel up river a ways to get away from the fishing tournaments, not sure how it was hooked up but it would hold that little bit extra fuel, i would toss it and save some weight.

As mentioned, tie a knot.

Something that helps make 750's more stable is to take out all of the foam up front. Stick some turf under the tank to keep it from rubbing a hole in the hull and shorten the straps. It lowers your center of gravity to make the ski more stable.

cool thanks for that , winter is alll but here in new zealand so the ski will be getting striped right down and a few things done to it and repainted . i know its sad but im kinda looking forward to winter lol
