how do I get this thing off? Got all the bolts off but it feels like there is a spring holding it on...can't seem to figure it out

the cover is off, but i cant remove it fully as, like i said, it feels like it is still attached to something...perhaps the stator or something?

next question:::the wires that feed through the cover, do I disattach them right from the metal box near the foottray? I pulled off one of the screw on plastic caps but i guess its just a seal and the wires are still in there....?

Unless you really have to remove them, I would just leave them attached.

most definitely. it's a pain in the arse to remove those wires. I hate messing with stators and CDIs. if your stator is fried, just call havasu watercraft. Brandon will send you a quality used one, complete with cover and all, for $175 if he has it in stock. last summer a rivet broke off my flywheel and ANIHILATED my stator. Havasu was a lifesaver 800-680-6621
