Reinforcing my blaster

Anyone have any pics of the reinforcing process on a blaster? I need to do the transom on mine, as its starting to get some cracks in it. How big of a hole are people cutting out of the back to access the transom? I was hoping it can be done from the area where the turf covers because I have a nice paint job I don't want to wreck.

There should be a few threads but basically you should leave a 1 inch lip around the edge where you cut the back open under where the rear turf covers. This will allow you to access the back and lay glass and allow you to glass the deck back in when you are done.

The 701 transom plate and Surf wedge would be a sure fix and at no where near the hassle of using glass. This plate and Wedge can be fitted in less than 30 minutes. The Transom plate will hide any stress fractures, stop them from spreading , and will make your rear super strong. The Surf Wedge will then deflect all the trapped water pressure from under the over hanging deck when landing big jumps. The plates can be bought with a rear exhaust or just plain. A carbon wrapped plate is also a option. something you should consider as a alternative to cutting.

i cut my rear deck open, and had my painted reinforce the rear with a few layers of glass and i removed all the foam in the rear the ski is getting a 1100 kawi.

Foam is already out of my ski, and it already has a triple, it's starting to crack around the pump tunnel and along the transom. Sounds like cutting it open and laying a few layers of 1708 is the best option.

I am installing a 701 Industries transom plate and Surf Wedge to reinforce my blaster. The install is simple and the benefits of it are clear, but it also looks really good when done. I hate dealing with fiberglass, so it was clear that the Transom Plate would work best for me.

Cut it open under where the turf goes reinforce from inside and reglass over and you would never know it was done. Strong as hell and looks stock . Doesnt take long and easy once opened up
