I was looking at a ski from NY and it doesn't have any VIN's on it because it has an aftermarket top deck? In the state of florida, what would I do? Register as a homeade ski? Buy a junk yamaha ski and do the dirty work? What would you guy's suggest since I know alot of you have aftermarket hulls!

I would say it is up to the person selling it, if he can not come up with a title he doesn't own it. IMO

I would stay clear of it. It had a HIN at one time right?

a ski with just an a/m top deck 'should' still have the HULL ID#, since the ID tag stays with the hull. with homemade, youll have to show proof of building it, receipts, etc. the dirty work is simpler.

Ditto all hulls should have two hull ID Tags, the other one is usually under the battery tray.

So I should stay clear of the deal?

I have vin's/ hin's and title from a ski I parted out.

Would that be the easiest?

Basically, Is it worth it to spend 3k and and still have to do the dirty work?
Its got some mods but nothing special!

Not to me but may be to you. Let the seller title it if he want to sell it. How do you know it isn't stolen? It had number at one time right?
