Red top tuning

I bought a 701 hurricane C2 last year that was set up with dual 44 red tops. At the time I didn't really notice the trail of smoke that it left behind, but I do now. My other skis don't leave this much fog haha.

I was getting a low end bog so I decided to rebuild the carbs this weekend and found out the carbs were set up with reverse jetting. 125 jets, 20 pop off with a 2.3n&s.

That seems like a lot of extra fuel going to the engine, would that cause the excessive smoke trail?
Low speed is 2.25 turns out. I mix 40:1

Overall, the ski seems to be tuned correctly. I'm just not sure where to go with the way the carbs are set up and tuned.

I got some new Blackjacks a few years ago. Dont know your motor setup, but mine was 83mm ported 61x

Low 127.5 1 1/8 Out
High 107.5 1/2 Out
2.0 NS 115g spring

Maybe this will help. 2.25 turns out is not doing anything.

Mines a stock bore 701 from what I was told. Bpipe and vforce3 reeds.

I figured 2.25 was too far out.

I'll get some jets and seats. It's a starting point at least, thanks

Reviving an older thread.

I have an rrp laydown that I'll be installing to make the swap to an xs1000 easier. Would the jetting be similar?

Never was able to try out the jets above due to an air leak. Currently resealing everything and figured while it's out to redo those jets and install the new pipe.
