rear lip

anyone ever cut their rear lip off the tray?

I just cut the corners off of mine. I havent decided if i'll take the whole thing off yet. I'm not sure how that would feel if i were to hit my shin/stomach if i fell off, or boarding the ski.

check out d-rocs build... he cut the whole lip off the back said it made for smoother landings i think

you mean like this? if so just watch landings. from excessive tail landing barrel rolls my left rear corner has delaminated. I need to wrap the rear bondline with some glass.

i don't think i would do it again... hasn't really changed much in terms of handling. at least not that I have really benefited from.

im talking no lip at all.. flush with the bottom hull. clearly glassing the seam together tho.

do it, just glass on the inside for strength and 2 layers on the outside for cosmetics. mine still had a small lip, i think the less lip the less beating it will take so it won't delaminate. (softer landings)
