well after fitting a few more things last night i have a issue with the hood.
what have you guys done about the tubes inside other then a complete hood mod.
the front tube can be trimmed not a big problem, but the other is right on top of my carbs. i was thinking i could cap that one off and add another in the front across from the other?????? ant suggestions??

also my impeller is to tight!!! should i work the wear ring or impeller to make this fit???
im sure i can make it work i just want to make sure i do everything right i dont want to just rig this boat.

You can just cap the one tube off, and put another close to the front one. The air tube placement on those hoods are definitely setup for single carbs. When I had dual carbs on that motor I just capped the one tube off. Never had a problem with air flow.

I started to mod the hood. That's why there a small piece of kydex epoxied in there. :afro: Made one cut, left it a few days, changed my mind, and covered it back up.

Yeah, my A.D.D. kicked in, and I changed my mind on the hood mod.

You might want to change the wear ring if you can. A machine shop might be able to clearance it for you, but it shouldn't be hitting if it's good and not swollen.

There's a place in Lexington that would powder coat that any basic color for about $30 or $40. I checked on getting a b pipe done before.

i had a similar idea on those colors. and polishing that chamber would be a job to do it right. i spent over 20 hours polishing a gear shifter i made for my ss. started with 320 and went to 2000 wet sanding by hand only

It's Metal Cleaners. 859-255-3700. I can take it to them if you want to ship it up here. They quoted me $30 to powder coat an entire AC aluminum pole.

Do the chamber white, head pipe blue, manifold red,....:usa:

i might take you up on that, i was a little afraid to just mail it to them. i would feel better knowing you took it and picked it up.
