RAD flywheel installation

I know you're just helping  , I'm just not too keen on spending big bucks on this thing, I really should have started with a beat up SJ, instead I'm freeriding a brand new SXR, I've put footholds in it already so shes gunna be near impossible to sell in Aus I reckon.

The advance was just done because its free, I realise its not ideal but I'm not racing this thing (its never seen enclosed waters), surf only :woot:

The plans for this boat are flywheel, head and pipe, , , , , Roll, backflip :Banane01:  retire.

This is where I'm at now, thought I'd post em over here.

Hopefully RAD will help with a bit of snap to get these further round. :headbang:

i have seen those pics before when you posted on ozpwc
you go well on that big heavy beast
the rad will help it crack off the bottom better
a wetpipe will make it go well as well

OK, couple of stupid questions.

1. How do I torque this up?? the stocker had flats on it to hold on to, the RAD doesn't, when I try to torque it I just turn the engine over.

2. The bolt that holds the flywheel on looked like it had locktite on the threads from factory when I pulled it out. The RAD instructions don't mention it. My guess is that the re-torquing would crack the dried locktite so its not needed, make sense??? Or should I throw some on??

3. The crank-cover has a plug at the top of it (looks like an oil filler on my old motos) whats it for?? There seemed to be a bit of oil in the bottom of the cover when I pulled it. While I've got it off should I be doing any other maintenance in there?? Grease the gear wheel on the flywheel/starter??

4. How cool are these dancing bananas :Banane01: hehehe

thanks for the help you guys rock :headbang:

Well I just googled rad looking for some answers, and I see that they do say not to lap it voids warranty, I'm guessing I had an old instruction set. Guess what I did to my flywheel yesterday afternoon :cussing:

Sorry to those that told me, I should have listened.

I wonder if it voids my warranty when the instructions supplied are wrong.

:Thinkingof_:

Well hopefully it never stuffs up, that way I won't have to test them out on warranty.

On the upside I found this:

:Banane09:

He's so cool
