Have any of you guys used the R&D Timing Advance plate? Is this a must If you plan on modding your ski?

Thanks!!
Mark

I just bought one for my 02, I'm going to wait to install it so I get a few rides in before anything happens lol.
They are awesome on the 750sx, I have herd conflicting opinions on using them on the 98-02 models since they already have more timing than the older ones. Make sure you run premium fuel and your carbs are dialed in before using one.

Very Noticeable difference in acceleration but a fixed 6 degrees is a bit much for the high end and if your setup isn't dialed in long periods of WOT you will probably be pricing out a rebuild kit. Saying that I run it and love it, but I'm aware of the consequences. I run a blend of 110/93 octane to help my chances. If you can afford an a/m ignition they are a way better bet. advance in low-mid and then levels out on the high. Good luck.

I ran one on my 750,On a stock engine, there's not a real noticeable difference, I had my carb rejetted and the flywheel lightened, then got the limited bpipe, all together it was awesome, I ran 93 octane and premix only, I then switched to 2003 sxr Cdi w more advance plus the plate, no complaints a nice little bolt on peice, also felt like it started up quicker...

also a skat trak c75 9/17 big hub is the way to go on an sxi. I would never run anything else. (I guess unless I got way more horses) but a medium-heavy mod, that's the prop to run.

OK, I ordered it. I am adding a lightened flywheel and modded head from #ZERO. I also am bolting on duel carbs from a ZXI. So, I should put all the new stuff on first and get it all lined out before installing the advance plate??

Thanks for all your help! I'm thinking of starting a thread of my build. Who wants to see it?

is this an single carb 750sx that you plan on installing dual carbs? be carful with the zxi carbs. I bought a used engine and took the carbs and intake manifold off. Jetting them was a nightmare because they had a 3rd or mid-jet ( keihins ) it was a total pain, I also had my flyheel done by zero way back when, and my head was milled down for 93 pump gas too, IT would be nice if you can find a mikuni setup and run the R&D intake manifold or the adaptor plates for the oem manifold. Im not turning this into a keihin vs mikuni debate, just my preference after the zxi carbs i tried. Good Luck

VXSXH2O So, did you ever get those Keihins to work, or did you give up on them?
