I think a stand up rider may feel more integrity and comorodary for other riders due to the need for more skill and practice. You have to put more into it, so you care more about what you're getting out of it. It's more of a committment, where as a sit down or a boat, just hop in and ride.

That makes absolutly no sense.

Harley and street bikes take the same kind of skill to ride, yet they hate each other.

I understand what he is trying to say.

But just because you have to "practice" hard to ride something doesnt mean you get along better with other people who practice hard to do the same.

It's having the INTEREST in that particular thing that brings people together.

i agree

how pissed off would you be when you know that for 5k less you could have brought the same style of toy that will rip the lips of your harley in an situation

speed
acel
brake
reliablity
corning
coolness
the only thing you can do better on a harley than a japper is have it stolen

Lets add to that...

How does a Harley, Crotch Rocket, and Gold Wing all reqire the same skill set???

Makes no sense

1) Stand-up and Sit-downs are both PWCs yet they require diffent skill (if you need me to elaborate the skill set, you are on the worng site).

2) Harley and Yamaha R-1. Both are motorcycles, but for their purpose (cruise and speed) they require different skills. I can see Joe Rebel faceplanting in a tight corner at 50MPH on an R-1.

3) Throw the Gold-Wing in and ask the AARP member to do the same, 50MPH on a tight turn.

Yeah, same difference. :banghead:

Harleys take NO skill to ride, since they are never riden more than a few blocks at a time and are always trailered of any distance that whould require actually having to take the bike outta first gear. Parking it in front of the local biker hang out is NOT a skill.

Gotta disagree with you there. My former boss, when I did my internship, spent a long weekend on his Harley. He went with some friends from AR to Arizona.

Yes, most of the time that is the case. I know Houstonian Harley Riders take the on the back highways, but dout they often go over 50.

the quote said nothing about motorcycles. jeff ski is a big fan of the sitdown vs stand up debate. you are all getting sucked in.

Read a little better man.

I'm not a fan of that debate. I'm happy with the honda but am currently looking to buy a standup. I want both.

None... that I know of, well maybe his Trio. With the stress levels at work, I do not doubt there were not any. He has the same entusiasm of his harley as most riders do here of their SJ/SXR. Ride till it hurts, divert the stress of work to the pain of the ride and have fun at the same time.

Yes, he is in the minority.
