quick jetting question

ok had it out today again and still had the same problem, but adjusting the low speed screw seemed to help. for some reason its doing the same thing that it did with the old motor though. after i ride for abit it starts to just bog out and itll barely stay idling, then run ok for a sec then do the same thing. i cleaned the carb out before i rode it. it runs fine out of the water, and will idle, but it just seems like theres a bunch of junk in the carb even though its clean? i ordered a rebuild kit for it becasue thats my only idea? any input?

did you use the same electrics from the previous motor. if so, it might be electrical.
no i used the ebox from the new 701 motor. it has to be somethin with the carb i think
mk got the carb rebuilt and it ran really good. but after about a half hour it started doing it again and now im thinking its getting water in the carb. it has a kn filter with outwear but my ski takes on alot of water. is it best to just run the stock air filter? im just confused becasue i thought if i got water in the carb it would clean itself out after running like crap for abit but it never does. i basiclly have to take the carb completely apart and clean it all out with carb cleaner then it will run good again? is this normal?

water will stay in the carb. go back to the stock flame arrestor, it works the best for keeping water out. also, put an electric bilge on it if you don't have one yet.

the oem one is the best. most of the freestylers run the oem.

Because engines don't run run well and make power with too much water in the engine bay! That's why you need a better hood to keep out unwanted water intrusion if you want to run a racing air filter setup. Get a stock oem one...Yamaha put it on there for a reason.
