Quick chat box.

Well on another site (accordtuner.com) they have a little box that is displayed at the top of the forums where members can post. Kinda like a chat room i guess. Seems like that would save a lot of unnecessary threads and help promote a little more communication between members.

we used to have the shoutbox here on the X.

it was great! darin removed it because it made for a vulnerable back door for hackers or something like that.

It was a heavy server load.

Also, while it may eliminate a lot of 'unnecessary threads', that actually takes away from the knowledgebase of the forum as a whole because questions get answered once, and then they're gone. Later on, someone might be searching for an answer, and it won't be in a post/thread.

We have a chat room if you just want to chat though.
