As far as sitdowns go I like it, I never had any problems with it turning by itself at WOT, matter of fact neither did my girlfriend...

Spend a little extra money or wait for a 97-99 GP1200. They are pretty fast(59-60), but are still pretty light and agile for a sitdown so you can throw them around pretty well and I hear there pretty fun in the surf.
What he said.
Also, try to get a 98-99, some of the 97 had hull problems, reinforced for the 98-99, not a big deal though.

i know its wrong, thats why i just said speedo indicated. but actually we were testdriving a boat powered by two waveraiders. they docked in the back of it. u could take one out and drive the boat with just one too. it was a great idea. guess the idea never took off though. i saw one on baywatch once.

I just recently picked up a 96' wave venture 700 with 78 hours on it for the wife and kids. mid 40's for speed and super stable, easy to ride for them. It's about as bullet proof a ski as you'll find with the 701. I paid $1600.

I've never ridden a WaveRaider Hull, but own a VXR PRO-the one with the 701 61X (not that the hull is any different then a VXR). Aside from old looks, its a pretty nimble hull. 2-up is non-existant with two adults, but a small child and an adult it could carry, I'd consider it a one-seater though.

44-45 tops, it's fast enough for the hull IMO.
