Q? REV Footholds

I would like to know what everyones take is on them. I am about to buy some, and these look to be good. I have ridden with some diggers, and found them not all that comfortable, these do look like the ones i would like. Please fill me in with any comments.

I absolutely love my REV's not only are they comfortable but they are so huge it opens up the tray a lot. I think it depends on how you intend to stand. I snowboard a lot in the winter and am used to having that wide stance.

After a season of use, I have good and bad things to say about the REV's. First they are cheaper than just about any other hold. You can get them with or without enclosures which is nice. They're roomy but not roomy enough. I have a size 9 shoe so very small and I was forced to use light padding on top and light/medium padding on the bottom just so I could use wrestling shoes with no socks. So that means that there is a very noticeable corner on the top of the hold that digs into my feet (it looks round but your feet will tell you otherwise). The holds have a section dug out for your ankles but it's not deep enough and all it does is wear the hair off your ankle...interesting trying to explain that to all your friends. The last thing I've noticed is that, even with enclosures, I can't keep my feet in those holds. Since it's a full foot enclosure, your ankle can't bend when you're all the way in the hold so you're forced to back out a bit and then you pull up with your feet and you unexpectedly pop out in mid air and that has caused all of my injuries.

That is one thing I noticed.

My take, a foothold should fit like a glove (or shoe!!!!!!!!), yes, you can use padding to custom form them to your foot, but that is a whole lot of work. I started out with the 24/7 2002 Bindings, I loved them, until I road in the surf, they tore my ankles up, would flat rub the skin off. Flat water, no problems. I got some WCF's for my current hull. WOW, what a difference. I could stand to tighten them up some, but I have only had my feet come out just a few times, usually only one foot comes loose during a roll, never had the rag doll effect that you see many people have.

I would seriously consider the WCF Holds.

rev aren't horrible if you are just wanting to open up the tray. but as for fitting like the wcf they are nice and tight. ronald mcdonald could wear his shoes in revs. I just installed the revs in my js550, they were the cheapest and thats why i bought them. i kind of regret it now, but i didn't have the money to ditch those and get wcf. so i installed them and they took a lot of fiberglassing. anyways what i'm trying to say is wcf are nice and tight and they install very easily. revs are nice and big and cheap, they aren't uncomfortable but they are as loose as a highschool chearleader.

Love my REVs, have them in both my SN and my 750SX :woot:
they do take some trimming and shaping to make them install into the skis
but I wouldnt trade them for a different brand

i think the revs are a good product as for them being to big if i was to install the revs again i would make them taller as to accommodate 25MM padding that is all i would change as for them being uncomfortable. i think it is all up to the person installing them if you want certain areas to fit your foot then ad or take away from the hold. no hold is perfect for everyone, i would say get the biggest hold you can find (revs) and use padding to custom fit it to your foot just don't go crazy with the padding cuz you can make to good of a fit = broken bones.
i think it is funny to hear people trash hold thats like saying what beer is the best or what the prettiest color is i understand certain holds have different attributes that make them appeal to certain people i can assure you any one that is good with glass could make any foot hold fit any foot even these

You should have rolled the tops out a little. Before I glued mine in i stood in them and noticed the ankle thing, easy fix
