putting the pump on

When I took the pump off my 90' stock SJ there where shims on the rear set of bolts how do I make sure I put it back together right?

what you needed to do was keep track of where they went. they go back into specific positions. does your hull have any writing marks on it where the bolts are. on mine there is indicating the size of shims.

on mine there were 2 on the left, one on the right.

How tight do you put the impeller on?

manual says 13lbs but i would do more. have heard that if it is too loose then snap of engine torue will really lock it on there and make it hard to get off later.

How hard should it be to turn it after the impeller is on,

Don't forget to put some plumbers sealant on the shaft threads before you tighten the impeller.
