pump rebuild thread

Someone posted a really great how-to on how to dis/re-assemble a pump.

I searched for it last night and most of this morning but I can't find it, using both this site's search and using "site:x-h2o.com" on google (for a little more flexibility using -/+ syntax).

Can someone point me in the right direction?

I looked through the tech faq forum 3 or 4 times. I remember that the parts on the author's ski looked incredibly clean, but its hard to use that as a search criterion.

it's pretty simple just take the impeller off (reverse threads) then take the pump apart including the cone. support the pump on a cpouple of 2x4's with space in the middle to let the shaft drop. put a block of wood on the end of the shaft to protect the splines then give it a big whack with a big hammer, and the shaft will pop out with 1 bearing still on it.

Thanks... yeah I have done it once before, but when I started to do it again a couple nights ago, I thought I should read that thread through again. Now I'm just mad because I can't find it. I take pride in my googling abilities.

Just now while writing this I thought of a good combination of keywords and finally found it. Here is what I googled:

site:x-h2o.com +pump +great +clean

... because I remembered that someone said "great write up" and someone commented on how "clean" the parts were.

You can get these bearings very cheap at a bearing house (I paid $10ea). They are Koyo 6205-2RS bearings that you need 2 of. They come as sealed bearings, and some of us are running them like this with no problem, but if you want to run them unsealed and grease packed, you can remove the grease seal and run them as such.

The seal dimensions are:
25mm x 42mm x 6mm
Need 1 single lip & 1 double lip

And if you need an o-ring for the cone:
O-ring 1-15/16"
