Pump help !!!!!!!!!!!

so i took out my ski today and it would go about maybe 1/4 throttle but one more that that it was cavitating (i think thats what it's called)

and then i looked under my ski and this was how my pump ring is. no rubber on it and its just the ring, and there's a BIG A$$ gap. is this what caused the ski not to move?

Go to ACE Hardware and get some adhesive backed household door gasket...... just kidding.

What is the ring made of anyway, is the rubber vulcanized to a steel ring. Is is possible for it to rip or break and fall from the driveshaft or was it never installed?

Yes there is definitely a steel ring inside of the rubber, not sure how you lost that?

it was installed when i put on the pump..... i guess i didnt do a good job

and its made of rubber and it seals on the pump housing and the pump

Yeah, that ring is really stiff so there must be some steel in there.

I have cut one in half, there is steel in it. I don't doubt it was in there when you installed your pump but you would definitely notice it coming out :biggrin:
Your prop also looks to have seen better days, possibly blowing a steel ring through it could attribute to that.

yeah u can see the steel ring thats there, the rubber came off though
