pump cone veins?

1. Vanes, not veins.
2. It was thought they provided a more crisp directional flow for more responsive steering and/or trim.
 
Has any one taken them out and seen a difference good or bad though? I would think you could push more volume with out them, but did not know if they had anything to do with the nozzle tilt or structure being that its a plastic nozzle. Putting it on a SXI for tilt up, but figured if anyone would know it would be on the x2 forum.

why in that case did they not continue it throughout the years..

This could be because they started going to smaller bore reduction nozzles. The X2 was a fairly light ski with a very big bore (84-86mm I think?) The larger the bore the more effect you get from the spin of the water exiting the vane section at an angle then its magnified in the reduction. The vanes in the reduction corrects the spin negating this effect.


I am not a hydrologist but I play one on TV!
