I figured that. Im jealous now. Im a big fan of squirrly skis too. I dont know what it is about getting tossed off the side of my unstable conversion ski going WOT that puts a smile on my face. Maybe I like abuse? Or maybe its just the challenge? Im hoping to have my fx1 painted and turfed by the end of this month. Those js skis are light. Hows the hull gonna hold up? They are thin. The hood is the equivilant of cardboard.

Well I actually built 2 of them. The first one ran off and crashed into a tree on the first ride. So who knows how many hours. probably 30 -40 each.

As for the hull, I'm putting a layer or two of 2oz e glass and then a layer of 9oz 2x2 twill on the entire bottom and in the engine bay. It should be strong enough for a decent beating.... I already ripped the nose off 3/4 the way around.

Probably figuring out how to lay new steering, cooling and driveshaft lines.... that or just trying to match up the hulls and bulkhead up for the right drivetrain angles. I did all that thinking I was going to use a kawi 850 motor. I later decided to use the yamaha motor after I set the bulkhead and driveshaft.

Getting the motor in was actually really easy.
