It takes very little pressure any press will do. They will also tap in with a mallet but doing it that way can damage the bearings. I have done it both ways. Never had any problems come up with ones I tapped in.
take the pump apart set it up on two pieces of wood, so the pump is raised with room for the shaft to move. put a block of wood on the shaft,then give it a whack with a hammer or sledge usually pops out in one hit.
