Pump baring Carnage

Solas MAG 12 Vein Stator.....baring took a dump

Was it the crack in the pump housing, faulty baring install or just a defective baring...who know's

The hooker also got shaved and needs to be sent in for repair thus the gap is way to big between pump housing and impeller

Outer baring race was stuck in Mag pump section ( got that out in the meantime, dont ask me how ) and inner baring race stuck ( melted ) on driveshaft >> Junk now

Conclusion as follows ....

2 shredded threads in rear of pump gave pump play >> vibration forced driveshaft to put pressure on barings and rub impeller on wear ring/pump housing >> pump housing crakced which furthermored dislocated wear ring >> ultimately baring gave out >>

I think i have it solved but who knows might have been a bad baring to start with

mine just did the same thing. I believe its because when the shaft is pressed in the inner race takes all the pressure and puts stress on it. First time i assembled my pump the shaft spun snug lasted 30 min and locked up. this time it still spun snug and we will see how long it lasts with the old oem bearing. Its a stupid design. it takes so much force to press the bearings in. Maybe next time I will.

Put bearings on the shaft pressing them on by inner race.

then start a fire and put the stator on top of the stove for 30 min. or in the oven.... if the grease is cleaned out.

Then the shaft might slide in without stressing the bearing.

I am quite sure it was a combination of the rear of pump loose and cracked ( Eggi ) wear ring....i have a press and made sure to press the baring in with pressure to outside and inner ring......done a ton of these and never had the issue before , the heat trick seems to be a good idea
