Pulse Line Fitting Question

I'm in the process of installing dual Mikuni 44's from 38's with a remote fuel pump and would like to know what type of pulse line fitting other than stock can you recommend? I need to drill the front pulse fitting hole on the 62T case and block the rear fitting. What would be the ideal block off method? JB Weld, rubber cap, brass insert plug, etc?

id say a quality rubber cap on the existing fitting and maybe a 1/8" mpt with a 1/4" barbed fitting for the new one.

why dont you just use the existing fitting?

I have a few new stock pulse line fittings but they are the press in style. It would be nice to find a right angle 1/4" barb fitting that would tap into the case and wouldn't come lose like the stock ones, Do you know if the 1/8" mpt will tap into the case and work?

The rear pulse fitting came loose and I need to install a front pulse fitting for the remote fuel pump. I may just use the stock fitting and JB Weld it in place; just looking for other ideas. I will probably make a bracket to mount the fuel pump behind the gas tank or near the battery.

I drilled and tapped the case 1/8" npt and installed barbed fittings front and rear. #5346K11 McMaster Carr.

I ended up using a stock nipple and secured it with JB-Weld.

Here are some pictures of my powder coated 44mm carbs. I mounted them backwards for easy jetting and will turn them around later when I get my new throttle cable.

I thought with the dual 44's you had to have 2 lines coming in from the tank (one to each carb) and only T the return. ?

Paul told me that mounting them backwards isn't the way to go, as the path air has to take is more turbulent at partial throttle, due to the direction the butterflies are if the carbs are mounted backwards.

Right now the lines are set up in the Yamaha stock configuration but with the carbs reversed.

Later I will turn the carbs around and drill out the return restrictor holes, add the remote fuel pump with two supply lines and one return line with a .70 restrictor jet.

I know he said there are more performance advantages with them in the stock configuration. This just makes jetting them a whole lot easier unit I get my new throttle cable.

That's what happens when you take a stock stainless steel engine mount bolt and polish it with a wire wheel brush and hit the surf.

I just ordered new ones, that rust is driving me crazy.
