Pulling new wire for trailer lights.

Replacing my trailer lights with LED type. How hard is it to pull new wire through the trailer frame?
Trailer is a 16 foot long double stand up trailer with light also midway down the trailer.
Wires near the hitch have been cut and repaired to put on a new plug by previous owner. I have it running now but would like to replace the wires with new when I put on the new lights

If you have the old wires in the fram already it is a cakewalk! If you dont, push a piece of mechanics wire throughthen tape the new wires to the mech. wire and pull, repeat on other side.

You are going to love the LED lights, I put them on my trailer and they are the shizznit!

I am thinking about doing the same as my markers (amber lights) do not work. What I plan to do, which is probably overkill, is solder the wires together, seal with liquid electrical tape, and heat shirnk to make it sano.

I would like to install electrical breaks now that my car has the option to do so (7 pin connector), but doubt I will.

The wire it there. I did not know if there were seperate wires going to amber marker lights or do they split off the main feed hot line. Getting ready to lay out the wire now. Solder and shrink tube. The couch trailer has new LED lights and i am switching all the trailers over to LED. Just this one needed some new wire.

Do you think you need trailer brakes for a ski trailer? I have never seen brakes on a small trailer, but bigger trailers, heck yeah hook them up.

I was reading some TXDOT or DOT code for markers and such. I think it varies by state, but at a certain weight it is required for trailers to have brakes.

I know I do not reach anywhere near 3000 pounds (MI), but in the Houston area it is sometimes unavoidable to slam on the breaks.

I did have some bong hole remove the cotter pin from my reciever when I was on a ferry. The trailer almost rammed into the car, but I fixed that by buying locking pins and coupler lock.

the side markers share the feed to the running lights.
 
Just didn’t like the idea of splicing into the main feed for the marker lights. I would like to have had a separate wire for those lights and if they fail I still have break lights.

I agree. Personally I just didn't do the side lights when I re wired. Another option would be to run a seperate wire from each and splice them all together someplace forward where it will be more dry and also easier to acess if there is a problem.

Of course the lights themselves failing isn't a problem, but each splce you have to make is a potential problem.
