Protective gear

I went to Pismo last Thursday and Friday, I did not stay over the weekend as I wanted to avoid the crazy crowds. I also took the family this time and She like it, which is a big plus as it means more trips  . I rode both days till I was exhausted. Thursday, the first day we got there, we rode until past sunset, it was magnificent to see the sunset right in front of you while shredding the lips. I rode aggressive this time, probably the most ever, taking big air and just riskier overall. I got plunged twice right in front of braking 4 foot walls...Ouch!
I don't know how it happened but I hit my shins pretty hard and it f***ing hurt, so I was wondering, Do any of you use protective gear? Shin Guards, etc...? I still have my old ones when I used to play soccer so I thought....mmmmm....why not.....

Stay at the Marriot Courtyard for 4 = $189
20 gallons of Premix = $60
2 day passes = $10

First baby steps on the sand at Pismo = PRICELESS

Thanks for the link. Those guards do not have a hard shell, more like padding. I keep searching for some type of "reinforce" wet suit pant but I can't find anything so far. It would be cool to just put them on and be done with it instead of trying to fight putting the wetsuit on through the shin guards.

Those look better as they also protect the knee...and cheaper too! I think I will order a pair. The main reason to wear them is Not to get hurt while you still have more riding to do. I got banged pretty hard on Thursday and Friday was a PITA to get on the tray as I would hit the same sore spot, over and over.....I will definitely try them and see if I can get used to them......Thanks for the link!
