Protec pipe modification

I am going to be cutting/rotating/welding my Superjet protec Mach 1 pipe stinger to use in my B1. I've read it's pretty straight forward, but just thought I'd see if there's any advice out there from people who have successfully done it.

Things like, where to cut? Do I point straight to the water box? Will it work with a stock water box? Tips and tricks basically. I got the engine with the manifold lined up in the ski to mock up. Kinda worried the stinger will touch/be too close to the waterbox when turned... Will be welded by someone qualified aka not me.

Should be pointed right at the waterbox.

Honestly it doesn't look like there is enough room to cut it and make it fit, I could be wrong but to check it I would take a piece of coathanger wire and bend it to follow the inner curve of the pipe, cut it to the length that corresponds with where you want to cut the pipe at , then place it on the possible cut line on the pipe and point it toward the waterbox and see where it ends up at.

Ya, I'll try that. Just eye balling it, it looked too tight. I guess people who have done it use a different style protec? Im not sure, hence the question. Worst case, I drop the stock gear back in

I'd be interested in the protec pipe if you can't get it to fit
