Prop spacer

Just fitted a tbm in my old pump and a new prop, do I need to use the little rubber and steel spacer thing that goes inbetween the prop and the stator or to get it closer to the veins do you leave it out?
Thanks

Many ppl run without one but that washer is duel purpose. It acts as a spacer for the prop and it also acts as a shield for your pump bearing. By taking it out you loose that shield. The best solution is to cut back the prop so you can keep the shield and still have your prop tight.

Thanks gentlemen I have put it back in and then cut the prop back a few mm aswell so now it sits nice and close with the spacer in too :) thanks people
