Blaster prop pitch?

im looking into getting a 144mm skat trak pump and want to know what prop to run for the best bottom end punch i really dont care about top end...any ideas??????:arms::Banane09:

This is an impossible question to answer, as the impeller is just one of the key components of the entire drivetrain. The impeller pitch must be matched to the engine and everything else...it all adds up synergistically. You didn't give any specifics of your engine setup or riding style / conditions so any pitch numbers on my part would be a foolish guess.

So, tell us more. But, I will say this: look at the Solas mag pump and match it to the proper Skat C+75 impeller. Unless the skat pump you are looking at is set back or has something else you need (?), the Solas is on par and much cheaper.

right now i have a stock 701 with exhaust, but over the winter i am redoing the whole ski, i wanna bump my motor up to a 771, and my style of riding is surf, i am looking into putting a rocker nose on it and the reason for this is because i want to start flipping and rolling my ski next season so i want nothing but bottom end thrust when i need it

so here's my recommendation, but other may have more experience...I'm going off of what has worked for me on my ski, but my engine is a bit different and I don't ride in surf. My guess is that in surf you really want instant hard pull in the mid rpms and not the absolute bottom, as I'm guessing that you tool around faster and have more of a wave ramp to launch off of than us flatwater guys...So, if that's true, I would do this:
- 771 with port work (contact Jetmaniac on here)
- good ignition (I prefer the Epic, others might not)
- ADA girdled head with domes for 93 octane
- is your exhaust a Factory Pipe b-pipe? if not, do that. Bottom screw open 3/4 turn, others closed.

and, assuming that, I'd get a Solas mag pump with a Skat C+75 big hub impeller, probably a 12/18 or 13/18 pitch.

Again, that's just my guess. For a real professional opinion, you can't go wrong by talking to Dave at Impros.com.

Hope that helps...
