i think i have a 14/23 solas cut back 5mm(race prop)

should i get a mag pump 9/17cut back 5mm?
i know it will have a ton of low end but will i lose all my topend? i ride in the oakland bay an some of the huge ferrys go about 50-55mph an i liked to keep up with them.
would this prop still have top end speed or should i repicth the prop i have now! my prop now is not a mag pump prop!

I would try repitching the solas prop to something like a 12/22 or a 12/21. That will give you some more bottom end from what you are running now. You will loose some top end.

Hey 510, grew up in Hayward and learn to ski in the Oakland Estuary, back when there would be 20 440's and 550's on the shore, no sitdowns yet. Gotta chase the ferry thats a blast. anyways I'm running a mag pump 142mm with a 9/17skat, killer low end and still kicks as$ up top. I had a setback 13/18 skat with the stock pump and that was descent too. I'm staying with the 9/17!

subnsxr am sure you rode with me or my dad at on time or another! can i run the mag pump prop withe the tbm cone? also is that mag prop (9/17) a cut back an if so how much?

stock props are C75 based props, you should be running a big hub regardless of pitch..........

im not running a setback prop or pump. the whole package was 1350.00 with prop. look online, the price varies alot.

i think ill just re-picth my prop down.its a 14/23 how low can i picth it???? not sure if has a limit on how much you can change it?
