Prop catching stator vanes

Just put new bearings in my pump, and putting it all together tonight I can't get the prop to seat down properly since it gets too close to the stator vanes and catches.

Setup:

Stock 144mm Yamaha pump
Skat 14/19 large hub set back 3mm

What do we think? Maybe the front bearing didn't seat down correctly and that's holding the shaft back? It sure looked like it was all the way down when we were doing it. I've whacked it from the rear and can't get it to move forward any further.

Any other thoughts?

Do I need to go and smack myself about the head for being a dumbass? :icon16:

That might just work Matt...! If I can find the spacer washer - not sure what has happened to that during the rebuild. Do you know how thick it is in case I have to replace it?

Adrian, I went back and cleaned the grease off the bench and did not see the washer/spacer. I think it is in the rear hatch of the Z. You do need the spacer with the big hub to clear the veins.

I really don't think I had a spacer in there with my old prop (Solas Concorde) - I was pretty careful to put everything in one place when I dismantled the pump and I don't see the spacer there. Weird. I'll call Dave for the dimensions and see if I can find a spacer or a couple of washers that will do the trick.
