Okey Dokey Here is my last problem for the week... I swear:biggrin:
Problem:
Hood does not clamp down.
All I care is if hood (B) can fit right!
The reason I tell you about (A) and (C) are so you know hat I have tried.
My setup:
- modified blowsion hood hooks (I had to file down a little where bolts go, dosnet affect my problem tho)
- (A) Hulls original oem hood
- (B) My new hood (painted, hand holds holds)
- (C) Another oem hood
- Stock hood latch (tray thingy)
- JSS hood seal
My Expeirence:
With hood (A)
I place the fron hood hooks into the reciving hooks on the pole mount. they fit good the hood then goes down all the way and sits on the seal. There is no tension like there should be. When I clamp it down it feels like there isnt even a hood there. Result: the hood acn be pushed around with my pinky and is on the hood seal but not tight at all.
With hood (B):
This is the one I really need to fit. first off the hood hooks on the hood itself are not at same hieght. (this is why i was trying oems to see where to replace them too) When I put it on the hooks slide in tho the reciever ok but hood is a littel off center. it has the slightest tension on it. When I clamp it down.. some times its tight sometimes loose. but its always at least 3/8 of an ich off the seal on the sides!!! And then the pole is let down it wont sit in the cavity.
With hood (C):
This is an oem from my other squarenose. It sets in the hooks has a littel more tension than (B). Clamps down a little more tight (stil far from good) than (B). It sits on the seal all around good. Problme here is its not sucking donw tight enought.
My Thoughts:
1) The hood seal has notheing to do with it. I know oem are best but theat wouldnt be affecting my problems.
2) The hood hooks are for a roundnose (say blowsion) but they are virtually the same hiegh in the receptical (with the blowsions bieg 1/16 of an inch higher). i got a pair of OEM's on the way to try but it will be a bit& to take the pole off jsut to try them.
3) My clamp is on top of my hydroturf... but its bolted down so tight its only off the hull a 1/16 or so.
4) The oem hoods fit fine on my other square... they dont fit on this hull thought... so it must be either pole mount hooks, or latch.
I tried to give you all the knowledge I have. I really dont know what to do here.... please help me!!! Any questions about waht I have going on please ask.... hopefully some one knows whats going on here.
