pressure in gas tank

how do you pressurize your gas tank to make fuel be suctioned up the tubes
of the superjett tank

blow on the breather
or suck air out if it??

my ski will run when i pour gas down the carbs but when to start up
it just turns over

i believe the pressure is my prob

thanks

pressure is not the problem. The gas tank is not supposed to be pressurized for the ski to work. Could be your carbs need a rebuild or something else.

You might have a fuel pump that's not working or the screen inside the carb may be blocked.

What the year, make, carbs, mods, and model of you ski?

If you want to build up pressure inside your fuel tank take the hood off and expose the tank to direct sunlight for a while. If your check valve is working and if you don't have any air leaks you should have plenty of pressure built up.

The fuel tank check valve should only flow in one direction to let air inside the tank to keep it from collapsing. Your dual 38 carbs only have one fuel pump so I would check the pulse line hose running from the case to the fuel pump. The brass nipple in the cases have been know to vibrate lose causing the fuel pump not to work. Also you may want to install a fresh set of spark plugs that are not fuel soaked.

my valve leaks a little too when i blow backwards through it. as long as it isnt too bad you should be fine. the ski will run w/o the tank pressurized. it should build pressure while running though...i think this helps supply fuel to pumps but will run w/o the pressure. is this a starting issue or a running issue? is your gas good, is the pulse line connected good and not leaking, does everything flow ok from your tank to your carbs, is your fuel pump working ok, any sediment inside the carbs? just the stuff i would check if my ski wouldnt run because of fuel problems.

sorry to thread jack
but to auqu i just wnat to say "come on take it"
you shoul get that with the pic you have

i do think though for you r problem just pull the carb apart and give it a once over

no it will start its got spark and everything it just wont run...ithink i might have something clogging the lines because i did a scupper and foam might have snuck in
any idea on how to unclogg the lines

Ps if i pour fuel down carbs it runs

thanks

so i am assuming it ran before the foam job. i would take the carbs off carefully not to rip the gasket that is on there and disconnect the fuel lines and pulse line. you probably need to go through the internals on your carbs and make sure everything is clean. make sure the check valves are clean in your pump so that they can seal and your pump can build pressure. also make sure your jets care clean. after you get the fuel out of the fuel lines you could probably just blow some air through them to make sure they are clean. while you are at it check your fuel filter.

you could try taking your fuel return off of the tank and try starting it....if your pumps are working it should push fuel out and even be able to build pressure i would think.
