Power question

Hello everyone I cant figure out what to do.

I have a square nose with

62t case
61x cylnders with stock bore
milled head on pump gas
stock twin carbs
modified protec rev limiter
factory pipe
lightned fly wheel
carbon reeds with stuffers
R&D grate

Ok so i am curently running a skat 9-17 prop. My boat runs great and I have been riding 4 years. I met a guy on the lake the other day with a round nose and the only engine mods he has is a msd ignition, wet pipe, and a prop he told me.

We traded boats and I couldnt get over how much low end he had. I mean i was doing nose stabs in 10 mins of riding it and I thought with my ski that I just didnt have enough power.

Well oviously it is the prop and he couldnt tell me what prop was in there.

I was always told my 9-17 should have crazy low end???

I mean I oviously have more power in my boat that he does but his felt so much snappy.

Heres an example

On his ski I could do a 180 and basicaly come to a stop with the boat bobing up and down and snap the gas and the ski would flip up side down. My ski just doesnt hook like that.

I didnt know what I am missing out on and thought I just needed more power??

What do I need to get based on my setup?

I dont care if the boat only goes 40mph I just want what he has
Thanks

Dan

Do it twice?That's DooDoo
could be one of many different things.... could be your engine, carb tuning, pump efficiency, etc.... best thing to do is start checking tollerances, compression, and make sure your ski is tuned right...

I rode a rn (I to have a 701 square) and after a few minutes felt like it could be thrown around alot easier then mine, his would also do over 50 and had tons of low end power. I wonder if its more hull then motor.

since you have a SN, maybe the foam is wet. Your ski may be heavier than you think, which might affect it. His ski may also be tuned differently, which would have an affect to a point. OR it could all be in your mind

I dont know, but I more mods??

I think I need to get the msd enhancer

Right now my stator is set to about 5-6 degrees of timing

Everyone is telling me the enhancer is a must for low end
