I was wondering the max power diffrences in the 4 motors

-650 = 50hp stock
-701 61x = 70hp stock
-701 62t= 80hp stock
-760 = 90 hp stock

I was thinking these numbers on the affordable max power ratings. With porting work, modified carbs, high comp head , pipe and stock electronics

-650 = 75-80hp
-701 61x = 95-110 hp max
-701 62t = 115-125 hp max
-760 = 135-145 hp stock

Any thoughts will help. This thread could also help people when making the choice of what motor they want to build.

Your HP numbers are a little ambitious. Power has become very subjective, many people now are porting below maximum to get better response. The actual difference in power between a similiarly ported 701/760 is not great but it can feel significant. Since our pumps limit peak rpm the only choice we have for power increase is by going bigger on everything. The only problem with that is you reach a point of diminishing returns very quickly.

Plus to be fair, the 760's were only in crafts that could utilize a much larger exhaust pipe than would fit in the superjets.

In the sitdowns with the 701's, I think a couple had like 80hp with the larger exhaust like the 760 used to make it's 90
