Potential Hurricane - Florida

Bring it!!!! Charlie knocked down about 45 cypress trees in my back yard and 16 palms trees that were around my pool snapped like tooth pics into my pool and across my pool pump. Tore a chimney off my roof. (whole new roof) Water damage = new floors, some dry wall and paint. :aargh4:

Over the past 3 years I finally got most everything fixed, prolly about time to start all over :lightning:

Hurricane Frances, almost 3 years ago.

Frances stuck around for almost 3 days. I went tow in surfing at Monster hole, Double Overhead with winds blowing out the SW (offshore)

But as far as hurricanes go, Frances was a puss.

frances may have been a puss, but it left me homeless and lost almost all of my possesions. ripped the roof off of my apt. and left 6" of standing water in it along with the drywall that fell from the ceiling, basically destroyed everything. losing the pictures that i had was the worst..

Sorry to read that. It was just a huge hassel to us as we already had out ass kicked from Charlie, seemed like a week earlier. Sucks losing personal stuff, everything else can be replaced.

I have some cows and people were asking me what I was gonna do with my animals. I said "only the strong survive" and watched them with their ass to the wind through three hurricanes. Had 6 dogs in the house. :banghead:

i sat through wilma last year with a chiuahuahua, ********zu and a sheppard husky mix in a 980sq ft apartment..... i feel your pain with the animals..... although walking all three outside in the eye of the storm was fun

i lived through andrew in southwest kendall. that was scary.

these hurricanes are so bittersweet.

I was still a firefighter back in 91. I went down to Dade county after Andrew with a tanker/pumper and a squad truck with 6 other firefighters. We spent 2 days in Opalocka untill they sent us down to Kendall (Corner of 88th and 122 if I remember right). That whole area was completely trashed.:grumpy: Handed out lots of h2o and ice.

if you click animate, it will give you the wave action expected for the next mega hours.

Hope everyone in Texas is okay, and unfortunately it looks like you may getting this one as well.

saki yeah they're bittersweet...I've seen most of them (after the fact) up close and personal (rubbing alcohol baths bite)

thx for the link jet...I'm always looking for extras this time of year (that one I mentioned to you a while back was called "human computation" I think, google education...only a puter techy might appreciate).

and Tut, many firefighters in my family line, so thanks for when you served!

I want to ride some surf but don't want to ride it in my own yard. Here are some pics of my house after Katrina. In the 4th pic that black line across the house, is the water line. That much water soaked in all my Sh*t for 3 weeks. Thanks Army Core.

sad for sure...I'm extremely sorry for what you guys suffered (and prob just recently finished fighting with your ins co's as well...if finished). I saw mention of Charlie and Katrina...my grandmother's home here in Orlando stood well in Charlie, but four homes away suffered. I stayed out of New Orleans itself for Katrina but did Gulfport, MS (two miles from the "dead zone") and Lake Charles, LA instead. So sad when you can't talk peps into leaving their devastated homes (disease from water contamination) for safety shelters when you let them know where they can go...just unbelievable to me still. Luckily this one is staying away from Texas since they can't handle any more water now.

Sebby was a blast as always, especially on Sunday when it cleared more...sry no pics but I was having too much fun! Met new peps of course, and evb was way cool! :cool2:

It's hitting within the next 20 mins. Cat 5, 160 mph, 907mb ...horrifying! 1st one to hit down there in 15 yrs (cat 5). Capable of catastrophic damage. Possible 30' waves...flooding...12-18' waves possible even in Cancun with beach erosion. Possible 6-10' waves even in Texas!! Jim Cantore on the weather channel keeps trying to get plugged in from down there, but it keeps going down...adrenaline junkie nut! Say some prayers for those people!
