I'm trying to figure out how to mount a dual channel MSD TL system in my new BOB hull which will be here in a week or so. I've got some carbon fiber to make a plate but I don't know how I'm going to mount it all since there will not be any brackets from a stock ignition and the turf is already on.

Post some pics and help me out people!

josh you ever find any pics of the new coil mount? I finally got mine dialed in,I left one deutch connector outside the waterproff box and it was causing the coil to miss fire, somehow it was getting a tiny bit of salt water in it,the whole connector is dielec packed now, 5 mill stroker runs like a sewing machine with it. If this box works out long term like I think it will with tl in surf,I might run sim ones in my other skis, the performance is great ,the response is unreal

I mounted mine after turf. I just used dimple washers and counter sunk screws. The screws on the outside are pretty much flush with the turf but I did have to carefully cut a hole in the turf so it sat on the hull and not the turf.

No pics , but I'll have some soon since I'm buying one. Going TL with the xs1000, going to be sick!

I had a local shop break a 90* in a piece of stainless I have had laying around. Then I drilled and tapped all the holes to mount the components. It has been working well so far. I will go through it all this winter (preventive maintenance), while im there I may upgrade to a sealed enclosure as many have done.

I had envisioned making a composite plate like yours with a bend for the coils. I'm just trying to figure out where to mount it. I would prefer not to put screws through the turf and tray but I still may do it. I've seen some other setups mounted near the battery and gas tank before but I can't find any pictures or figure out how to do it.

I have mine mounted to the stock E-Box brackets. This gave me room behind it for wiring and my module. I was wanting to mount my coils on the battery but I decided against it. After thinking about it I could not find any real advantage.

The problem I found with the coils mounted on the battery is the long run of wires, more connections, more problems in saltwater. I should have my system all done by the end of the month, just waiting on the TL system.

That was my thought. I seriously considered splitting everything up and mounting it where it would be most convenient but I realized that it would take a lot of anal wiring to make it look nice and then if something ever happened, pulling it out would be a nightmare. When your hull gets here, you'll have plenty of time to figure it out....haha

Here is the latest one I did for Shonuff's new SJ. Same as mine.
