The Glazing on the walls is a combo of water injestion & excessive piston to cyl wall clearance.

after seeing the initials & looking at the porting, it's definately Pro-Tec / Dallas Baker. He was a pioneer in radical designs. some worked & others didn't. This is one of his I havn't seen before. It looks like it might have been made for Blaster/sport racing. I have seen many blaster porting spec motors work well for freeride. I would definately go to the next size bore & clearance to .005

Keep in mind, all his porting specs were designed around his pipes. If you are running anything differant. You will most likely need to play with jetting. His pipes liked a rich running set-up

Have seen that portjob of an old World Finals Protec-built superjet, the owner said the boat screamed, never rode it myself. Your head is leaking the water in, the problem should be on the opposite side of the carbon build-up on the domes. The 2 colours on the plugs is from a very fast scavenge process.

thanks for all the input! i just bought the ski this winter and have only rode it twice for about 30 mins each time.. I've never rode a superjet before this one so i have nothing to compare with, but the first time it took it out i could not keep the thing in the water.. probably partly because i dont know how to ride it yet.. it ran great the first time.. then on second ride started running like crap.

Protec ported cylinder for sure! (Dallas Baker Products) I built a few of his combo motors before I learned to do my own. Cylinder walls don't look very good, could be from a hard life from drinking too much water over the years...Get it freshened up with a new oversize bore and a set of new Wiseco pro-lite pistons.
