Not an enhancer :p
Thinking about dual cooling now, and he recommends a girdled head when you start putting money into your motor, and once you add porting, that extra hp makes it more crucial to have extra strength supporting the cast cylinder.
He emphasizes fuel quality alottt when you start to get high comp, and he said sometimes it's risky up north, etc.
If I do a head I'd go 37cc domes and go for 170 psi. Probably an ada head, but not until I get money. Super pricy tho!!

You did the right thing by contacting a builder. There is a lot of useful information on this site, but sometimes its a pain to sift through the BS. Talk to the builder about your goals and then set a budget. Stick to what they tell you and you will have a hard hitting reliable motor!

Super Pricey is the name of the game in this sport, but a lot of fun can be had on any boat!

Couldn't agree more.

You have a good pipe and prop for a stock cylinder. The stock porting is limiting your thrust and low compression is killing response. So get some port work and raise compression to 91 octane. All these high compression freestyle tunes need a programable ignition in order to run full throttle all the time. Especially in cool weather running pump gas.

Yeah I think I'm pretty set on what I'm going to do right now. Going to hold off on the porting for right now, and going to get a girdled head first. Going to go with an ADA head w/ 37 cc domes. Therefore WOT is pretty safe, right?
Kind of interested to see how much difference 20 psi makes. I'm fine with the power I have, but it's always nice to have a little more :p. Going to stick with my protec modded cdi now, still sticking on 7,750 rev limit. Still have all kinds of hull mods to do now. Shortened Rn pole, tom21 sponsons, complete reinforcing, new footholds, etc. Next off season I'll probably get my top end ported along with my b pipe mani bored out to 49-50 mm. I'm not going to do any backies or anything unless I go to lake Michigan with the PHP crew and there's huge waves, and I don't need massive power for that. I can still get inverted w/ my setup on flatwater and I'm sure I can eventually do rolls off of a boat wake with my limited setup. I think eventually I'll go the epic ignition route, but that won't be for a long time. I'm looking at mods for the long run, and right now a girdled head makes the most sense. Zack at PHP also told me that they run dual cooling on pretty much all 701 setups, and he said in 50 degree water I don't really need to worry about restrictors even w/ dual cooling. He said there's not really a worry about a cold seizure due to running dual cooling around here. So glad I called him up!

I rode a few times with my stock head this season after my fresh rebuild, but after making some money I had to upgrade something ;)
I upgraded to an ada girdled head with 35 cc domes and running four gallons of premium pump gas to one gallon of 110 Oct race gas just to be safe.
I can't believe I didn't do it sooner! It brings everything together and increases the throttle response/overall quite a bit. It's a night and day difference. It makes the ski pretty snappy! I'm so glad I bit the bullet and did it.
