You made the mistake of changing more than one thing at a time. Learning to tune is a slow process depending on how much time, money, and desire you have. Fortunately watercraft are a lot more forgiving than a wheeled vehicle. A "bad" port job will usually run well enough with a good pipe and careful pump adjustment.
