Is an fx-1 pole spring as hard to install? Ive noticed the stock one is really weak. Would the blowsion one be better?

And when i was reinstalling mine on my 550 i got it to that point then just moved the pole around which helped move the spring so i could get the bolt through

Put a threaded rod in through the other hole. Use it to wedge the spring down-wards while tapping the screw with with a rubber hammer. Using a wrench and torque and press the bolt also works. Good luck!

at that point the threads on the bolt sometimes can be used to thread thru the spring. you really need to find something to put behind the spring to bring it forward. wether its from the other side hole or like some channel locks over the top of the spring and lever it forward.

I don't understand why it takes everyone hours to do this, its a 15 minute job. I have witnesses.:burnout:

After fighting with mine a few times it has become a 15 minute job for me also, just use something to pry the spring forward. I have hammered it through the spring before but that sucks and you take the chance of buggerin' some threads, I would try to "screw" it into the spring before using a hammer.

have somebody help you out. it goes a lot faster.

my first time took me about an hour. now its a 15 minute job like the other guys said. a big prybar behind the spring to press it down helps, and another guy to move the pole so the hole on the other side is lined up helps a lot.

just noticed you have a lowered blowsion bracket as well... be careful when the head of the bolt gets close to the ski, it doesn't really fit.

i got pissed off when i was changing my broken stocker out for an ac pole and took a chunk out of my gelcoat there because i had no patience.

loosening up the two nuts on the bottom left of the bracket would probably alleviate this problem.

i have also heard of people grinding a bit off the head of the bolt so it will slip by. i didn't want to do that though.

I used a rachet strap to pull the spring forward, Then was able to get the bolt through with out a glitch....Guessing its not the best way but it worked!!!!!
