Pole pad and other back savers???

Its been a year and a half since i got hurt. Ive been avoiding selling my superjet, but ive also avoided putting any more money into it. Its time that one of those two things have to happen.

I bought a 4x6x9 yoga block tonight im going to put on. Im not sure which height is best (it can be cut to any height). Ive thought about trykng the 9inch and maybe even some riser bars trying to ride it like a fixed steer. Im open to suggestions of those who have tried various options.

Ive found that running without the chin pad makes the pole very liht that helps, so ive considered a carbon pad (i already have a blowsion spring, but may get a fresh one). No pad concerns me for safety reasons and keeps me from sliding onto the hood.

I also believe a wider tray would help, but am not sure how to go about that. Regular foot holds wont help me when i ride bouys. Bob foot holds seem like they would be good for me. I can makd anything out of glass but time is money and i dont think i can beat the bobs when considering the ease of installment. Im not sure if there are any other optiions, holds would be a requirment if i ever hope to progress in the future.

Ive considered a hull but there arent any models ive fallen in love with since i like to ride bouys and surf.

I used to ride hard 3 days a week, now i barely ride at all once every 3 weeks. Im open to other back saving suggestions. Thanks guys.

Aluminum pole and/or adding another spring. Or a tom21 fix steer hood. What part of your back? Upper? middle? lower? Have you tried rehab and body work? holding a 1-2min plank a few times a day?

L5. You name it, ive tried it, except the knife. Only thing that helps so far was injections. I can do anything, it just comes at a price. Its the inflamation that takes me down, so if i can reduce the load, i can reduce the inflamation, and hopefully ride harder longer.

I can plank for several minutes well rested.

The pad should help a bunch. I ride with tall pad and tight pole with riser bars. I still get back pain but i can ride like a fix steer to take a break when my back gets sore.

Main thing that kills me tho is lifting skis. Always lift with legs, but sometimes u get forced into lifting a buddys ski at an awkward angle :/

The only issue with the tall pole pad (mine is pretty tall) is pulling yourself onto the ski can take a toll on your back. It has taken me a lot of rides to get used to it and the first thing everyone complains about when they ride my SJ.

I don't know what kind of hood or pole you have now but using a spacer pad puts a lot of pressure on the hood if you jump and land with the pole down. A stock pole is weak as it is. Leaning down on it resting on the hood puts stress where it normally isn't when standing and having the pole floating.

It feels really nice though using it for an almost fix steer resting position!
