Pole and turn plate issues. 08+

Hi all, I was helping my brother install a turn plate and cable on an 08+ pole with a umi turn plate assembly. With the cable detached at the pump end and connected at the turn plate end, no matter how much I adjusted it at the turn plate I could never get the turn plate to hit the cast stop on the pole. Any ideas why it won't make contact? Thanks

Nope. When you put on the new turn plate, you moved the cable connection as far out as possible, right? Well, that increases your steering throw to the point where you've run out of cable. You can try to pivot the steering stop block, and see if that fixes it. If not, the easy thing to do is move the cable in more and reduce your throw. I think they sell cable extensions that would fix your problem too. I can't go all the way out on my turn plate either.

I've heard of people tapping the stop block so that they can add adjustable bolts to stop the turn plate. Maybe this is what you need? It sounds like a longer cable though.
