That motor is a bad choice for a stand up. Too big, too heavy, too slow. Stick with a Yam engine, you'll be much happier, and actually get to ride it.

Polaris motors are much better engineered than oem yami. Just look at the number of ports, quality of castings and tolreances, and the power outputs... I am interested in a Polaris motor as well, the pros like them! So what bottom end and top end to make a 900-1000 polaris motor (2 cylinder?) Maybe someone with EME motor could shed some light? :)

isnt 350 expensive for a motor that needs bottom and top end work? especially bottom end and it sounds like you are saying it needs an all new top end... i'd stick with the yamaha motor but if u can get it going for cheap and u have the know how to do it yourself the polaris may be ok just my $0.02

Funny, wonder why Malone runs Polaris based motors?

Probably because he has gobs of money to waste on jetskis. I did not say Polaris motors are not capable of making good power. I just think Their quality is way below par. For a rec rider I think putting that motor in a super jet would be a huge waste of time and money. A lot of the time polars parts prices are way out of line.

Did nobody else realise that a Polaris 780 is a tripple??? That motor is a big heavy pig. On the other hand, I run a polaris twin in my carbon hull. I'm pretty happy, but it's also a bit heavier than kaw or yam twins.

You need a 777 case . My understanding is that the polaris has a much beefier crank / main bearings much more industrial built. Parts and interchangeability are the killer . As far as power , you can make it with set up and gobs of it . Just tough getting all the pieces together in one pile . Finding a total loss set up might next to impossible , as well as exhaust manifolds etc.

Its kind of a shame , you could probably go well into the 1000 + cc range with a stock stroke and little effort other than am cylinders.

and this should be the direction of anybody who wants relatively cheap (non billet stuff) big motor.... so anybody actually built a 1000cc with 777 case? It's tempting...probably would be great in a/m hull...

Not cheap ... many more options out there cheaper . In my last statement what I ment was it WOULD have been a great platform if it were easer to get the parts together . Very few if any after market parts are being made to support building one. The industry went billet / yamaha 701 . Much cheaper to go that way IMO .
