Super Jet please help with this elec issue before I lose it

i wasn't getting spark yesterday after i loads of water in it , then one sparked then both put it back together then nothing , checked again only 1 sparking swapped out my 1 hour old plugs for the old ones and had spark so put them back after giving them a clean and it ran fine .

water had got into my plugs , you have tried new set of plugs haven't you ?

ummm yea guys I started with new plugs after it wouldnt start in the beginning,If I took all this apart with no results and swaped plugs last and got it running that would be pretty bad.......lol

i didn't think plug because you said it fired up and ran fine after the stator swap but plugs foul at the wierdest times so it never hurts to ask the question.

check the harness where your start stop switch plugs into at the elec box. I had a broken wire in there right at the grommet where it goes into the box. Caused all kind of weird gremlins. inc slight backfiring.

ScottS had a problem with a harness a couple years ago too. He swapped everything until that was all that was left to swap. He found a place where a screw from the tubbies had worn thru the harness and caused corrosion between a couple wires.

I chased down an electricical prob for about 8months last year. Similar problems. Swapped all electrics and still had it. weverything tested good... Ended up being a bad twist on plug boot... I spent many hours on the beach and spent a ton of money tryin to figure it out..

So you didn't swap ALL electrics?

Haven't had any problems out of the JSS coils, I think Chris sells them for $80.... Been running them for over 2 yrs now (701 to 1000cc)

jnb.I was thinking it may be something like that before It started a few times with the new stator just fine,I had checked comp it was 175 on both.

Big K,I disconnected the stop circuit, and the ski turns over every time so I assume that is not the case, tell me about your experience in detail.

Ocd,I swaped the stator and you see above what Im doing with the start stop. Scott s was the one telling me about the rattling magnets in the tbm fw,I did put the tbm back in there after the stator swap, when it started a few times and then craped out again, but I tried a stock fw with the old stator and got nothing as well,I dont think the stator and tbm fw would have both went bad at the same time?
I just cant think of anything else but the tbm fw that would be changing the timing that much, the stator is for sure tight, its running a msd enhancer,it started INSTANTLY the first try after the stator swap and gets progressively so bad out of time the next 3 starts it wont even kick at all???????????

made that call yrs back and found it to be a waste of time

How so?
I had your exact problem last year and I was my coil...well it wasnt the coil itself it was the wires, stock wires out of the coils suck, JSS coils are not a waste of time by any means, His stuff is top notch IMO.

this could very well be the case, the second stator was out of 05 sj that ran, it got loaned out to a bud to run a jetnetics fw,for a couple months,Its a long shot who knows with these things. Would a bad pulse coil be intermittent with timing ? just so strange it started fine 3 times. tested both plugs at the same time last night in the dark and they both appear to be firing perfect, somehow it is WAY out of time though

Josh,Im sure Jss must be using different wire or better method or something, but they look precisely the same as the new ones.We got these yrs back,I remember at tona in 05 or 06 before you and chris were into it,there were a few guys cussing jss and pulling them out. I should have shot a vid of the light show those pos would put on in the dark with salt water sprayed on them, when they were brand new.thought I was at a pink floyd show

I have heard all kinds of stories about the JSS Stator service, some second hand and some direct from the persons mouth. They are hit or miss. I have even been told that WSM coils were used in place of OEM. Who really knows what is done to them is the bottom line.
