Here are some clips from a friends helmet cam. My ski seems to point nose high. My ski has a cut ride plate and pump wedge with a stock RN pole w/ 4 deg. bars.

At around 0:18 I rode out but I landed tail heavy.

Any tips to help?

Thanks dudes

You need to get the ski to do more work. You're doing a great job throwing yourself over the side of your ski, but you need to change your thinking. You need to get the tail to come up over your head. Since you're stuck on rolling off boat wakes and you roll left, you need to approach from the left side of the boat (the wave will launch you better) - going the same direction as the boat. Stay in the middle of the ski, keep the pole ON the hood, listen for the "click" of the bars, and pull the tray up as HARD as you can. I keep my bars BELOW my knees when I roll.

You'll also want to adjust your steering nozzle for as much throw to the left as possible. On Kawasaki's it's a little harder to do since the cable is pulling, but you just need to move it in and back farther. Another 10º of throw will REALLY spin that tail around.

It seems very weird to keep the bars low, though I know it is necessary.

My "preload" seems to extend my legs/ body from the ski.

Should I have my bars in my stomach when I launch, or is there a better way to change the axis of rotation.

A couple years ago I could do a nice little nose stab, but now I couldn't do one to save my life. ........... well if my life depended on it I may but you get the point. I think I acquired some bad habits.

Thanks!

You need to go back to something similar to get your technique back. Whenever my rolls get sloppy, I go back to big, floaty broncos. You can focus on staying centered on the ski (not getting off to one side like some nose stabs), and keep the nose down for that nice smooth inverted sub. Once you get those nailed, *all* you have to do is pull the tray up, and you'll get farther around.

re-learn how to do a bronco 180 / inverted nose stab, then just rotate harder and tuck to get it all the way around. i think of a bronco 180 as a barrel roll where the 2nd half of the roll takes place underwater.

nice job getting all the way around on the SXR on a small wake.

this is exactly it...dont go into a barrel rolll expecting to barrel roll...keep it as a second thought...go for an inverted stab at first ...crank it high and at the point of halfway you whip a bit harder and pull in closer it comes right around

its all a mind game...when i rush a roll it dont work (like in competitions im pressed for time) but rather you think about everything i just said it will come...take your time on it

I forgot!
whats wrong with the nose high? plate to plate right? last thing leaving the water should be the first to hit if you want to ride away standing up. that is the way i see it. anytime i take advise from anyone of how to improve my technic i end up over thinking and don't go with the flow. practice, that is what i am doing.

ok like he said stay low pull your feet to your body another trick i picked up is to cut off your rear bond line this will make it handle like a superjet and does not drag the back of your ski down when you jump good mod nice rolls too
