I just bought a very nice 92' 750sx. The engine is all stock w/ K+N only.
it has great compression in both cylinders, runs amazing!!!! tons of power.
SS prop, and grate.
Here is the HUGE question I have, I just took the ski out today on the water...for about 45 secs. The reason I cut my wonderful day of fun short is because I have very little water comming out of the "pisser" on the left side of the nose port. I already know that the right side is just a fuel cap overflow so no issue that water is not coming from the right side "pisser."
I noticed in my very short fun ride that the left side "pisser" has small amounts of water come otu when I hit the throttle with some steam or exhaust out of it also.
My diagnosis is still un- conclusive mainly becuase I pulled the "impeller pump line" off and it will blow air all the way out to the left "pisser" so i then tried some hose water... that went right through to the left "pisser" and came out in a nice steady stream. NOW for the potential problem!.... right when i start the ski the stream stops into a little leak and lots most of the water appears to be comming out of the exhaust in the back. when i rev it a little the water out the back still comes and a little bit comes out of the left side "pisser" but not like it would on a js550 in a steady stream its just like a little spirt or something.
SO... my question is ... did I save the motor today and there is a problem with a cooling line in the waterbox 'because it flows great all the way to the waterbox until its started' or did i just cut my wonderful day short on the beautful 85deg day here and there is nothing wrong with the cooling system? My only guess is that all the "cooling water flow back out of the exhaust instead of the "pisser" if its normal. Still NOT worth the risk of taking it out until i know for sure.
Thanks soo much for ANY advise or help. and the cooling system appears to be stock and run from the rear'pump'line up to the motor then the head to the "downpipe" the to the "waterbox" then out the "pisser"
sorry if I called anything by the wrong name I just tried to explain it the best i could.
Thanks

ok thanks for the reply. just checked compression again. its within normal limits for the stock motor.
The spark plugs look great nice light brown. I cannot seem to find any water in the cylinders and the plugs indicate that there is no water being burned from when i can tell.
it still starts right up everytime and runs great!
The water is making it all the way through the head with O resistance all the way to the "waterbox" and it still only stops pumping water out of the pisser when running... it slows to a really weak leak with sperts of water when revved....
I am soo confused.. ? if it has good comp it both cyls and the plugs look good I wouldnt think it was leaking water into the cyls...
correct me if I am wrong but it IS supposed to have a stream of water comming out of the pisser when running and in or hooked up to water right ? not just a leak more of a stream ?

steam coming out is a good sign of a blown head gasket. take the plugs out and shine a flash light down the hole. if it looks like its been pressure washed, the head gasket is blowed

haha!! well right you both are!!! a O- ring gasket on my compression tester and reading 150psi close cyl and 120psi on the far!
5 mins later heads off and sure enough blown head gasket!!!
the cyl walls still look good on both cyls as far as I can tell.... could'nt have been leaking long because everything doesnt look like it has been damaged in any way.
I am thinking that I will replace the head gasket and test compression again. if its not within about 5-6 psi im going to just order a new top end and be done with it.
Any advise on what head gasket to order ? type? compound?
Thanks for the help again
Edit: ill post some pics up in a few mins so you guys can see

You can see in the pic of the domes on the head the moisture. not much but enough to ruin my day riding :(
((((

Yes they are cell phone pics sorry. and NONONONO I did not put those stickers on there.. and NO I cannot take them off seeing as they are clearcoated on the @#$% boat! but for $600 you cannot beat that deal new SS prop, grate, ride plate, and k+N. with an unmolested motor isnt a bad deal. Not to mention that the it has been refoamed and the glass is flawless around the entire boat!

The one dome is nice and pretty because it was steam cleaned by that leak. Since the piston still looks black I'd say the leak happened that day. A blown head gasket typically won't cost you an engine unless you're really careless or the entire gasket is gone and flopping around. Usually the worst thing that happens is the engine overheats.

Ok. Thanks again for the advise. I will update the compression test when I get the headgasket on . If its good then ill go with just that for the rest of the riding season, if not then I have decided to just pull the whole motor and build it right instead of waiting until the this coming winter to build it.
Its hard to not want to just throw the gasket on and ride it for the season seeing how i just got it and I am DIEING to have some fun with it on the lake!!!

My '94 does the same thing but when I trace the left pisser line it goes back to a device on the electrical box for some reason? Does anyone know what that is and whether or not I should be getting water out of the left pisser?

That piece on the electrical box is a temp sensor. You don't necessarily need this and your can reroute the lines around it. I keep mine hooked up because it doesn't give me any trouble though. The right pisser should have water coming out of it, while the left pisser isn't really a pisser it's a drain for the fuel filler area.

Right pizzer=fuel cap drain

Left pizzer =engine cooling water
