Plasti dip will peel off the bottom of the ski the drag from the water is enough to make a tiny scratch start to peel. I've tried it on a few parts and every single one stared to peel.
I watched a video on plasti-dip. They sprayed in on the car and then just peeled it off the areas they didn't want it. It wouldn't hold up to our abuse. Paint or Vinyl are the only options on the skis. You can put vinyl on the sides of the bottom deck but it wont last as long as it would on the top deck.
Watched the video, after someone posted a question about the Plasti-dip, here. They don't show how to repair the 'skin' if you damage the surface. But the hi pressure wash convinced me, it would be ok for maybe top.
Color blends of 2 or more colors? Haven't seen it.
IDK- vinyl (from a competent printer) that has UV over-laminate, is relatively cheap. If you go to a 'wrap house' that's when it get's expensive.
The key to plasti dip is to paint over it with a color you want. Plasti dip is best used for a primer. I just painted a ski with this stuff, ended up painting it white over the white plasti dip and it worked fine. I can peel it off if i want but its going to be hard to get it started. It feels just like a typical paint job to the touch. I was so curious I had to do it. My opinion, it sounds better than it really is. It is a good product but I spent like almost $100 dollars on doing it right.
