I would stay away from it. They are probably stolen. I guess you could go look at them, take the hull numbers and run them through your local law enforcement. Worst case scenario is that you make the purchase, found out they are stolen and now you are out your money and possibly in trouble.

I don't post my phone number on craigslist because of all the scams. Actually I think anything on Craigslist is a scam. 19 out of 20 responses to my sales have been spam.

I agree craigslist can be great if you are smart about it. I don't post a number either because it's alot easier to negotiate through e-mail where you have time to think about it as opposed to being put on the spot. It's pretty obvious to see what's a scam and what's not. I've bought 2 cars on craigslist, bought a couple sets of tires, skis, sold 3 cars, trailers, sold several guitars and amps. Just sold a fridge to a guy a couple nights ago.

It does seem like it has gotten alot worse over the past year though. It's a shame, it's a really easy way to do business and find some great deals. A couple scammers have to ruin it for everybody. If it seems to good to be true, it probably is.
