Super Jet Piston wash picts

Speaking of piston wash, from reading all I have on two strokes, and seeing these, I'm assuming that it was lean? The orange/redish hue is from the starbrite fuel additive, white chunks are saw dust from the bench top. Domes look the same no detonation, plugs looked great every time I changed them. Full throttle plug chop a nice cardboard color. Full throttle 5-10 sec runs, not a problem. The rings were shot, about 18 thou so I'm assuming that is why the sides of the pistons are so brown?

Looks lean but hard to tell as you are showing the wrong side of the piston. You should have a finger nail sized bare spot in front of each transfer.

Oil is Yamaha, 14 ozs per 5 gals so approx 45:1 ratio, 93 octane Sunoco with Star brite Star Tron Enzyme Fuel Treatment Gas Additive. There are small fingernail sized low spots in the carbon build up about 1/16" lower than the rest of the carbon build up.

thats what my pistons looked like out of my stock 701 i just took apart.

Real rich where? At half throttle? Or did you tune full throttle 1-2mph rich of peak?

Plug chop to test plugs after tuning

I dont think a plug chop after 10 or 15 seconds wide open is going to tell you if you are lean on top. The reason is it takes more than that to clean the plugs of the color you get from running the engine at the lower rpms you normally run at.

Rollin 5150, yeah thats what my SXR slugs looked like also, maybe a little leaner
